Field research Lagos

We study African workplaces.

StreetOps studies how people, teams, and organizations work across Africa; the behaviors, relationships, systems and values that shape how work gets done.

Our North Star

Social Productivity

People being able to work together and be productive.

We believe the way people relate to one another is part of how work gets done.

These aren't separate from performance.

They shape it.

That's what we call Social Productivity.

And this is the question behind our research:

What helps people work well together, and what happens to productivity when they do?

Trust.
Identity.
Belonging.
Communication.
The ability to work together.

Social Health
Index

Team health is something we're still learning.

The Social Health Index is StreetOps' ongoing research into Team Health — how healthy teams actually function, what shapes that health, and how it relates to the ability of people to work together and be productive.

It isn't a framework we finished.

It is a living body of research.

The dimensions give us a way to look at what is happening inside teams, while our studies, StreetAsk data, cohorts, programmes and workplace observations continue to refine what we understand.

How we currently look at Team Health

The Social Health Index looks at the systems people work within and the values they experience.

Workplace Studies

PastCurrentOngoing

Some questions can't be answered with a single survey.

So we study them over time.

Our workplace studies follow people and teams through cohorts, programmes, placements, and real workplace experiences.

When we run a programme, we don't only teach.

We ask questions. We collect evidence. We observe what happens.

And we use what we learn to improve our understanding of work.

Study 01

Identity, Belonging & Productivity

How team identity drives productivity, belonging and energy.

One of our earliest studies asked what happens when people genuinely see themselves as part of the same team.

We studied how shared identity influences belonging, energy, collaboration, and how people work together.

We started with ourselves.

The research became part of how StreetOps operates today. We call ourselves the Vectors. Every Vector has a Fleet ID, represented by a high-performance car.

The fleet is more than a visual identity. It represents a mentality: that individual performance contributes to collective performance, that everyone has a role in the movement of the whole, and that the team moves together.

Identity became an operating principle.

What Actually Builds Team Bonding?

Shared work or shared experiences?

With our first Griot Academy cohort, we studied what actually helps people bond.

We compared different kinds of shared experiences, including group work and games, to understand what creates stronger connections between people.

Shared Workvs.Shared Experience

The question was simple: what makes people feel like a team?

Building Better HR & Operations Talent

Can Organizational Behavior training change how early-stage HR and Operations professionals perform?

We are training early-stage HR and Operations professionals through Griot Academy, connecting them with startups for placements, and studying how they perform when they enter real organizations with an Organizational Behavior foundation.

StreetAsk Background
StreetAsk

What is work actually like for people?

We don't want to guess. We want to ask.

StreetAsk is our ongoing conversation with people about work: what they experience, what they value, what frustrates them, and what they wish was different.

We use StreetAsk to understand how people experience the workplace and to continually gather evidence that helps us understand Team Health.

Each month, we explore a workplace theme and share what we're learning.

Research Papers

Questions we're still exploring.

Not every question belongs to a longitudinal study. Sometimes we want to explore a workplace issue more deeply, examine an idea, or contribute to the wider conversation about Organizational Behavior and work. Our research papers bring together our thinking, observations, evidence and findings on issues affecting workplaces.
